A few years ago John Bossio’s No. 14  jersey was retired by the Central Hockey League’s Odessa Jackalopes.  Beginning in 1999, John spent five years with the Jackolopes, the first two when the franchise was in the Western Professional Hockey League. He retired as the franchise’s all-time leader in points and games played and is very proud that he was recognized by the team.

John is a scrapping six-foot, 180 pound winger who retired at the end of the 2003-2004 season with career totals of 130 goals and 149 assists.  He established single season franchise records for assists (53) and points (94) during the 1999-2000 season.

John said: “ The people there were unbelievable. They were kind and very friendly, and John,  beginning in 1994, played four seasons on a full-ride scholarship at Northern Michigan University of Marquette. John felt the franchise treated him very well and described it as a “first-class organization.

Before playing for NMU, John spent two seasons with the Stratford Cuillitons in the Mid Western Junior B Hockey League and in the/92-/93 season was rookie of the year. (  You might recall past president, John Montgomery, was/is a Stratford resident)

John felt very proud to be recongnized  and attended the ceremony at Odessa, Texas.

John was a recent hire to the Beer Store    Well Done John!!!!!
