February 10, 2016 – To All Representatives and Members UFCW Canada Local Union 12R24

Please accept the following bulletin and update regarding contract negotiations.

This update is to advise you that we have been in talks with representatives of the employer since late November 2015 and have met for approximately ten days.

We have agreed to centre predominately on non-monetary items and focus on problem solving with respect to the collective agreement and common issues. We have not entered into dialogue around wages, pension or benefits at this time.

Contrary to some of the rumblings and rumours, we are indeed still engaged in the process. We will resume talks on Wednesday February 10" 2016, today, and we feel that talks may move into more delicate and intricate topics. The remainder of this week and next are blocked out for bargaining.

It is my opinion that both parties are committed to achieving a settlement; however, this will not be an easy task by any stretch of one's imagination. It is also my opinion that talks are not going well or poorly. We are simply progressing. I take that as a positive at this point.

We will endeavour to keep everyone as informed as we can while we enter into the next phase of this arduous process. I thank all of you for your patience as we are committed to bargain the best collective agreement possible.

In Solidarity,
