Congratulations are in order to Brooke McQuigge who will be representing Canada in the 2017 IIHF U18 Women’s World Hockey Championship in the  Czech Republic. Brooke was chosen earlier in the year at tryouts in Saskatchewan.

The tournament will begin January 7th and Canada is one of the favorites to be successful this year. Looks like a fight between them and the USA.

Brooke is the 16 year old daughter of UFCW Canada’s Vice President Trevor McQuigge who is a truck driver for The Beer Store in Whitby. Needless to say Trevor is extremely proud, but humble, in bragging about Brooke’s achievements. Brooke has already been offered a scholarship at Princeton in the USA.

All of us from 12R24 are very proud and excited to have Brooke represent us. We will be following very closely and cheering you on.  More info can be found on the Hockey Canada website.

Canada’s Schedule is as follows:
January 7: 1:30 PM EST vs Sweden
January 8: 9:30 AM EST vs Russia
January 10: 9:30 AM EST vs USA

Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday:  TBD.

GO BROOKE. MAKE US PROUD!!!!! . (but find time to have some fun too)
