Sisters and Brothers of the Brewery Council,

For those of you that are not aware my Union, CUBGW LOCAL 325, went on strike on January 12/17. As we know going on strike is the last resort a Union has when it has no other choice due to its employer being unreasonable at the bargaining table!

Congratulations are in order to Brooke McQuigge who will be representing Canada in the 2017 IIHF U18 Women’s World Hockey Championship in the  Czech Republic. Brooke was chosen earlier in the year at tryouts in Saskatchewan.

This will be the final update with regard to contract negotiations recently concluded with The Beer Store. Ratification votes have been conducted throughout the Province.

  • UFCW Canada participates in 2017 United Latinos Educational Conference

  • Members at Canada Catering achieve first contract – UFCW 1006A

    Meaford, Ont. – September 23, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 1006A members working at Canada Catering in Meaford, Ontario have ratified their first collective agreement, which brings wage increases and a new health and welfare benefit plan.

  • It’s been a rough start for Alberta’s United Conservative Party

    Calgary – September 22, 2017 – Earlier this year, Alberta’s former Wildrose and Progressive Conservative parties voted to join forces and form the United Conservative Party (UCP) in order to liberate Alberta from the NDP government they claim Alberta voters accidently elected.
